How to chop grab
1) Align 2 yards outside the tackle
You want to make the tackle feel like he is out on an island. Aligning wide will do just that.

2) Aim behind the tackle
Aim where the tackle is going to be, not where he currently is

3) Close distance with your first 3 steps
Threatening the tackle will get him to shoot his hands

4) Chop the wrist
It’s very hard to turn the corner when an Olineman punches you in the chest. Chopping his wrist will divert his punch into the ground and make it easier for you to get around him.

5) Grab the shoulder
Grabbing the shoulder will bring your momentum around the edge quicker

6) Rip to clear
Ripping prevents the tackle from resetting his hands on your chest or shoulder

7) Plant and burst
Take a plant step and set your course to the QB

8) Aim @ backside shoulder
QBs can be a slippery bunch. Aiming at the backside shoulder gives you the ability to adjust your path if the QB steps up or spins out

9) Strip the ball
Don’t just sack the QB. Be a playmaker and strip the ball so your team can get points on the board.
